Our last project of the year has begun this week in class. It will be on Chapters 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. It’ll be mostly group projects. Each group will be assigned one place to research. Each group will develop and teach a lesson on their chosen approved place and will be given a class period to teach the lesson. The lesson will include 3 parts – written, visual, and an activity for the class to complete at the end of the lesson. Each group will use their textbook as a guide, but will utilize additional resources, as well.
As a group, there will be 3 goals: 1) Determine the type of lesson that the group would like to present (a powerpoint might be a good way to present, but any presentation is acceptable) 2) Decide who’ll be covering what particular part of the assignment (for example: early history, government etc. 3) Put all the pieces together. Since this will be an assessment grade for the 4th quarter, grades will be individual, unless the group decides that each of its members have worked equally hard & each should receive the same grade. *Once, goals 1 and 2 are accomplished, each member will work on their individual assignments in class and at home if needed until the lesson can be put together.
Grading will be based on a written, oral, visual, & hands-on activity. Everyone will present their own individual assignment within the group presentation. You will have four days left to work in class. Additional work will be done at home. Presentations will be made according to the following schedule unless groups discuss needed changes before the presentation date. Do not procrastinate. Get them finished as soon as possible.
